Things to do on Food Revolution Day

The time has finally come, tomorrow is Food Revolution Day! All around this beautiful globe, people will be getting together to celebrate, share knowledge, cook, eat and stand up for real food to support Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. Almost 1000 activities will be happening, in 592 cities across 58 different countries!

Since launch day on April 7th we’ve come a long way, having more and more people organizing local foodie events. We’re so proud to be a part of this great initiative.

Here’s just a small selection of local food events you can join all over the world:

So what are you waiting for? Take part, and join the Food Revolution!

Don’t forget, all net funds will go towards food education through Jamie Oliver’s foundation projects in the US, UK and Australia. The money will be used to educate, empower and inspire people of all ages to make better and more-informed food choices.

Happy International Tourist Guide Day!

According to the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations, Feb. 21st is International Tourist Guide Day! The day aims to bring the attention of local authorities, fellow citizens and the media to the quality and value of local tourist guides. At Gidsy (from the Dutch word “Gids”, meaning guide), we love our tour guides! The many unique urban adventures that are listed on Gidsy motivate us every day, and we’re thrilled to have such a cool group of local guides be part the Gidsy Community.

From mushroom to product

When we were going to search mushrooms in Berlin. We had no idea of the adventure that it triggered. This story is about a bad experience turning into an idea, that’s now being transformed into a product.

Prior to the idea of Gidsy, we wanted to go mushroom picking around Berlin.
